Locations *                   Dumfries, with the flexibility to travel to other locations as required by the business

Description *                Nithcree Training is a family based company, currently recruiting a Driver Trainer and Assessor to work mainly at our Dumfries training centre, for 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Saturdays on a rota.  Some travel and overnight stays may be involved to carry out assessment work.  Must be flexible with start times to facilitate DVSA test times and customer requirements.


Job role:

Carrying out driver training to DVSA test standard

Presenting of candidates for driving tests

Maintaining training records in accordance with company policy and awarding body standard

Driver procedures

Safe systems of work and Health and Safety

Carrying out Vocational Qualification assessments


Essential Skills:

Computer literate

Good interpersonal skills, confident and able to work on own initiative within our team

Demonstrate leadership skills

Good communication skills

Held CE entitlement for at least 3 years and valid licence, maximum 3 points

Have a good knowledge on EU and UK drivers' hours and tachograph regulations

Conscientious, smart appearance and clean shaven


Training will be given to the right candidate for relevant instructor and assessor qualifications


All successful candidates must complete a full PVG disclosure

Job Skills and Qualifications

Skills *              Driving, Driving Instructor, Training, Instructing, Logistics

Licenses          LGV C & E

A full LGV C and CE licence is required.  Other skills such as forklift, ADR or lorry loader crane are desirable but not essential as further training will be given for any specific requirements or instructional qualifications.


Whilst a list of skills has been published these are not essential as training will be given.

Driver CPC Training

Driver CPC is a European Union directive that affects all professional LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) and PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) drivers.

For new drivers it introduces an initial qualification, the Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence), which increases the amount of knowledge that drivers need before they can drive.

Our training centres in Dumfries, Huntly and Carlisle serve Scotland and Northern England.

We can also deliver training directly at your own business location from our mobile classroom training vehicle.
